Tainted Words

Rastinews — Every tainted word falls on our souls like a high-yield bomb. We are being shattered.

"There is no word left to express anything anymore.
It survives in no language…
We must recreate the language of HUMANKIND…"

We live in an age of "expert" inflation. Academics, linguists, writers, artists — all reach for cheap, provocative language. The result: careless, thoughtless words. "Hate," "the Other," "Discrimination," "Lack of empathy," and so on rain down on society like bombs.

Every tainted word falls on our souls like a high-yield bomb. We are being shattered.

Words reopen our wounds. Words kill us…

Evil began when words were corrupted — words steeped in lies, words stripped of their soul, words emptied of meaning.

A word is tainted in the cruelty of a mother who raised a son — one who lost his father at nine — telling him: "I never wanted you, your father did. Your father loved you; I loved your brother."

And he grows into a man who, never having learned to love, does not know how to be loved.

Parents taint words when they endlessly tell their children, "You're stupid," "You can't do it," "Are you retarded?"

The result is fearful adults with no self-confidence.

A word is tainted in the mouth of a mother who, on the day her daughter gets her first period, says: "What, did you get covered in filth?"

Her daughter's sense of womanhood is tainted; motherhood itself is wounded.

A woman grows up who will spend years trying to repair herself.

"Infidel," some keep saying.

The faith of those who use the word "infidel" is tainted…

"Negro," says the white man.

The hatred on his tongue comes from the darkness in his heart. As tar drips from his words onto the earth, the whiteness of his skin cannot cleanse the "white man(!)"

With our words, we slowly kill one another.

When the manner and etiquette of speech breaks down, words are tainted.

In sentences built with the arrogance of cold reason, indifferent to the feelings of the person addressed — words are tainted.

In sentences built on emotion alone, unmixed with reason — words are tainted.

In sentences spoken with reason devoid of feeling, or feeling devoid of reason — words are tainted.

Words must be cleansed first.

Let us cleanse our words, so that minds may grow clear.

Let minds grow clear, so we may think in the light of healthy, unprejudiced, humane *"knowledge of values."

Let us think, so that we may build new, egalitarian, free ways of life.

In the beginning, there was the word and nature.

The word was tainted, and man rotted.

Everything will begin by cleansing the word… Anew.
