Couple found in burned house in Elazığ were shot dead, autopsy finds
Ağa and Hayriye Üykü, who died in a house fire in the district of Karakoçan, had been shot before the blaze. The autopsy found bullet wounds on both bodies, and gold and valuables were missing from the house.

The fire broke out in the Ürünlü hamlet of Koçyiğitler village. Firefighters found the couple's bodies in the two-storey house after extinguishing the blaze.
An initial assessment concluded that the couple had died of smoke inhalation. An autopsy at the Malatya Forensic Medicine Institute later found bullet wounds on both bodies.
Investigators believe the house may have been set on fire after the shooting to make the deaths look accidental. Gold and jewellery were also missing from the house.
The gendarmerie is continuing its investigation to identify and arrest those responsible. Ağa and Hayriye Üykü were buried side by side in Ürünlü.
