"Terrorism-free Turkey" process moves to universities: YÖK asks academia for support
RastinewsYÖK has mobilized universities for the "Terrorism-free Turkey" process.
According to Evrensel, in a letter sent to all universities under the signature of YÖK Chair Erol Özvar, universities were asked to contribute to the process through academic work.
Universities were asked to research the political, legal, economic, social, cultural and security dimensions of the process, and to organize panels, conferences and workshops. It was also requested that the resulting studies be shared with the public.
Özvar said universities should not merely support the process, but should also contribute to "building lasting social peace through knowledge, science and research."
With YÖK's letter, the process being carried out by Ankara has now also been formally placed on the academic agenda of universities.
