Iran: US and parties involved in the attacks will be held responsible

RastinewsIran's Foreign Ministry said it would continue to respond to attacks against the country, and that the US and other parties involved in preparing or carrying out the attacks would also be held responsible.
The ministry issued a written statement regarding the US strikes near the Strait of Hormuz on Lark Island.
The statement said the attacks targeted Iran's "national sovereignty and territorial integrity," and noted that civilians and soldiers had been killed.
It argued that operations by Iran's Armed Forces against US military bases in Jordan fell within the "right to legitimate defense."
The ministry said that not only the US, but also other parties involved in preparing or carrying out the attacks, would be held responsible.
The statement also called on the United Nations Security Council and the UN Secretary-General to take action to safeguard international peace and security.
Retaliation for the Lark Island attack
The US military carried out two strikes near the Strait of Hormuz on Lark Island last night. The attacks were reported to have killed at least two people, including civilians, and wounded two others.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said that, in response to the attack, it had targeted the Muwaffaq Salti and King Hussein air bases in Jordan, used by US forces, with ballistic missiles.
The Iranian military also announced that it had carried out an attack with dozens of drones on US soldiers and helicopters at Al Minhad Air Base in the United Arab Emirates.
