Kurdish Parties in Rojhilat Warn Iran's Government Could Lose Control
RastinewsThe Alliance of Rojhilat Political Parties has called on Kurdish political forces to prepare comprehensively for possible upheaval in Iran and the wider region. The alliance said Iran's deepening crises could weaken the state structure and cause Tehran to lose control over parts of the country.
The Alliance of Rojhilat Political Parties announced the outcome of an Aug. 25 meeting on regional developments in a written statement.
The meeting addressed Iran's structural crises, rapidly shifting regional dynamics, ongoing conflicts, economic sanctions and mounting international pressure on Tehran.
"Kurds must not be passive observers"
The statement said Iran faces numerous unresolved, deep-seated crises, and that the current situation could further weaken the state structure or cause the government to lose control over different parts of the country.
At such a critical juncture, the alliance said, Kurds must not follow events as "passive observers," and called for a clear strategy and a strong political plan to meet possible scenarios.
It stressed that political and diplomatic activity must be coordinated with work on the ground.
Call for military and diplomatic cooperation
The statement said Kurdish political forces must deploy their resources and capabilities in pursuit of shared interests, and called for closer cooperation in military, security, organizational and diplomatic affairs.
It said Kurdish success depends on striking a balance between defending national rights, identity and self-determination on one hand, and women's freedom, democracy and social demands on the other.
The alliance also said it would strengthen ties with international decision-making bodies and other democratic opposition forces in Iran.
Parties attending the meeting unanimously reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the alliance, calling political unity essential to the future of the Kurdish people.
Joint commemoration for Jina Amini
The alliance also announced a joint commemoration to mark the anniversary of the "Jin, Jiyan, Azadî" movement, which began after the death of Jina Amini.
It said it would prepare a dedicated file documenting the Iranian government's violations and the situation facing Kurds, to be submitted to relevant international bodies.
Five Kurdish political parties active in Iran signed a joint framework agreement in February, uniting under the name "Alliance of Rojhilat Political Parties." The alliance said at the time that it sought a national, democratic order based on the political will of the Kurdish people.
