After Framework Law, Turkish Defense Ministry: No Border Troop Cuts

RastinewsTurkey's Ministry of National Defense said reducing troop numbers at border outposts is not on the agenda, in its first assessment since the Grand National Assembly (TBMM) passed the "Framework Law."

Calling the process "historic" for regional peace and stability, the ministry signaled that security measures would continue as they stand.

The law's provisions will take effect only once the National Security Council (MGK) determines and confirms that the PKK/KCK and affiliated structures have completed their dissolution and disarmament process.
