RastinewsProtests are continuing across Rojava after the Damascus administration, as part of its integration policy, limited Kurdish-language instruction to just three elective hours a week. Students, teachers and parents are preparing for a mass demonstration in Qamishlo demanding the right to education in their mother tongue.

According to Rudaw, the rally is planned for 11:30 a.m. today outside the March 12 Stadium, with participants expected from nine cities across the Jazira region.

The organizers are rejecting the decision to reduce Kurdish to an elective subject and are calling for it to be withdrawn, demanding guarantees for full education in the mother tongue.
