Dutch consulate hails Peshmerga unification as safeguard for Kurdistan, Iraq
The Dutch Consulate General praised the unification of Peshmerga forces in the Kurdistan Region on X, saying a unified, non-partisan force would guarantee the region's security.

The post highlighted the Netherlands' support for the move, stressing that a unified, professional and non-partisan Peshmerga force would serve as a protector of the people of Kurdistan and Iraq. The consulate said it was proud to take part in the Peshmerga unification process.
The same day, the unification of Peshmerga forces was formally launched at an official ceremony attended by Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani, Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and Peshmerga Minister Shoresh Ismail.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani said the day marked a historic moment for Kurdistan and the Peshmerga. Barzani recalled that unifying the Peshmerga forces had been part of the ninth cabinet's work program since his first day as Kurdistan Region prime minister, adding that the process carried special meaning for him.
