Bayık targets Mazlum Abdi, sidesteps Öcalan's role
Abdullah Öcalan and Kandil steered Mazlum Abdi's talks with Damascus, yet Cemil Bayık placed sole blame for the advisory appointment on Abdi. Bayık's silence on Öcalan's part in the process fueled readings that the criticism was confined to Abdi while the İmralı-Rojava link went unmentioned.

RastinewsKCK Executive Council Co-chair Cemil Bayık criticized Mazlum Abdi for accepting an advisory post under Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa.
Speaking to Rojava-based Nûçe TV, Bayık recalled that Abdi had earlier said he would not take on any official post, then later agreed to become Sharaa's adviser.
"At first he said he wouldn't take any post. But then he accepted the advisory role. And it wasn't even an adviser responsible for Kurdish affairs — just some ordinary adviser, a bureaucrat. The criticism of this is fair, and we criticize it too. He shouldn't have accepted it," Bayık said.
Bayık added that the matter would look different had Abdi taken the advisory post specifically as the official responsible for Kurdish affairs. "If he had been the Kurds' adviser, it wouldn't have been a problem," he said.
Bayık: YBŞ's integration into the Iraqi army a positive step
Bayık also addressed the demands of the Yazidi community in Shengal and the integration of the Shengal Resistance Units (YBŞ) into Iraqi security forces.
He said the Yazidis want to move toward "democratic integration" with the Iraqi state. "If that happens, it will be good. It looks like Iraq wants to resolve this issue," Bayık said.
Bayık also spoke about the future of the camp in Mosul's Mahmur district.
He said that if the process succeeds, the Mahmur camp issue will be resolved as well, noting that Turkey and Iraq have decided the camp's residents should return to Turkey.
Bayık stressed that guarantees must be given to camp residents before such a step can be taken.
Bayık: Iran's regime will collapse if it fails to resolve the Kurdish issue
Turning to Iran and the situation of Kurds in Rojhilat, Bayık argued that Iran's regime would "collapse" if it fails to resolve the Kurdish issue.
He said Kurds need to organize and prepare for possible developments, adding that they should be ready both for the case that democratic integration fails and for the possibility of war.
