Bayık targets Mazlum Abdi, downplays Öcalan's role in Damascus talks
While Abdullah Öcalan and Kandil's guidance shaped Mazlum Abdi's dealings with Damascus, KCK Co-chair Cemil Bayık placed the entire responsibility for the advisory role on Abdi alone. Bayık's silence on Öcalan's part in the process drew comment that the criticism was confined to Abdi while the İmralı-Rojava relationship was left unexamined.

RastinewsKCK Executive Council Co-chair Cemil Bayık criticized Mazlum Abdi for agreeing to serve as an advisor to Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa.
Speaking to Rojava-based Nûçe TV, Bayık recalled that Abdi had previously said he would not take on any official post, but later agreed to become al-Sharaa's advisor.
Bayık said: "First he said he wouldn't take on any role. But then he agreed to the advisory position. What's more, he didn't become an advisor responsible for the Kurds, just some advisor, a bureaucrat. The criticism of this is fair, and we are criticizing it too. He shouldn't have accepted it."
Bayık said the matter would look different had Abdi taken on the advisory role as a position responsible for the Kurds, adding: "If he had been the Kurds' advisor, it wouldn't have been a problem."
Bayık: YBŞ's integration into the Iraqi army a positive step
Bayık also addressed the demands of the Yazidi community in Shengal (Sinjar) and the integration of the Shengal Resistance Units (YBŞ) into Iraqi security forces.
Noting that the Yazidis want to move toward "democratic integration" with the Iraqi state, Bayık said: "It would be good if this happens. It looks like Iraq wants to solve this problem."
Bayık also spoke about the future of the camp in Mosul's Mahmur district.
He said that if the process succeeds, the Mahmur camp file will also be resolved, noting that Turkey and Iraq have decided the camp's residents should return to Turkey.
Bayık stressed that guarantees must be given to camp residents before such a step can be taken.
Bayık: Iran's regime will collapse if it doesn't resolve the Kurdish issue
Turning to Iran and the situation of Kurds in Rojhilat, Bayık argued that Iran's regime would "collapse" if it failed to solve the Kurdish issue.
Bayık said Kurds need to organize and prepare themselves for possible developments, adding that they should also be ready in case democratic integration fails to materialize and war breaks out.
