Efkan Ala: Sub-committees have begun fieldwork on process

RastinewsAKP Deputy Chair Efkan Ala said the process was unfolding as expected from the outset, and that sub-committees were continuing their fact-finding work on the ground.

Ala said the process was continuing "in a positive atmosphere," and that policies were being implemented across institutions, neighboring countries and relevant bodies. He stressed that the timing and sequencing of steps needed to be carefully determined, and said there was no negative situation at present.

Ala pointed to the risk of provocation and said the necessary precautions had been taken. He claimed public support for the process stood above 80-85 percent — no independent source or poll was cited for the figure.

Parliament to set up monitoring committee

Ala noted that a committee would be established in Parliament to monitor the process in the new legislative term.

Under the government's so-called "Turkey Without Terror" process, a committee headed by Cevdet Yılmaz was formed, followed by the establishment of sub-committees on the matter. Kurdish political circles had not responded to Rastî's questions about the statement as of this report.
