Rezaei: No talks with US until Iran's conditions are met
Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, said Tehran will not sit down with Washington despite President Donald Trump's signal that he is open to renewed negotiations, unless Iran's conditions are fully met first.

RastinewsMohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, said in a social media post that any talks remain off the table until Iran's conditions are met, responding to President Donald Trump's statement that the US is "open to negotiations."
"The balance over oil and the straits has shifted"
"Don't be fooled by the President's mixed messages, swinging from 'no negotiations' to 'we're ready to talk,'" Rezaei said. Arguing that the strategic balance over oil and the straits has changed, he added: "Trying to salvage the situation won't be enough to stop what's coming. There will be no talks until Iran's conditions are met. Period."
Rezaei's remarks came a day after Trump wrote on Truth Social that "the beleaguered Iranian nation wants to make a deal, fast and hard," and after the US said it remained "open" to talks.
Conditions include lifting the blockade and unfreezing assets
Iranian officials say that for negotiations to resume, the US must lift the blockade and economic pressure, release Iran's frozen assets, and halt Israeli attacks on Lebanon and Gaza. Rezaei had previously reiterated that the Strait of Hormuz remains closed and under Iran's control.
The 60-day deadline lapsed in August
The two countries had begun talks under a framework signed on June 17, aiming to reach a final agreement within 60 days. That deadline passed without result on August 17, and tensions between the sides have escalated in recent weeks amid US strikes on tankers carrying Iranian oil and mutual accusations.
