RastinewsSami Sheikhmous Heso, a 26-year-old Kurdish soldier serving in the Syrian army, was abducted by an armed group and brutally killed.

According to information from Rudaw's Rojava correspondent Viviyan Fattah, Heso, known as "Sipan" and a resident of Hasakah's Mufti neighborhood, was abducted by unidentified gunmen and taken toward the road leading to Deir ez-Zor.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the killing.

The soldier's body was brought to Hasakah in the middle of the night and will be buried in his hometown.

Hemo: I condemn inflammatory media rhetoric calling for violence and killing

Syria's Deputy Defense Minister Sipan Hemo (Semir Osso) also issued a statement on the case.

Writing on X, Hemo said the investigation was ongoing and that those responsible would be punished as required.

Hemo said the following:

"With deep sorrow and grief, I offer my sincerest condolences to the family of martyr Sipan, who fell victim to a savage and treacherous crime.

The martyr was a fighter in the Hasakah Brigade and had dedicated himself during his years of service to defending the security of the region and its people.

I condemn all inflammatory media rhetoric calling for violence and killing, and I call on the children of our people to arm themselves with patience and self-restraint, and not to fall for attempts to sow discord.

The competent authorities have moved to apprehend several individuals involved and continue their efforts to apprehend all the culprits, so that they may stand before the court and receive, through a fair trial befitting the savagery of the crime committed, the punishment required by law.
