RastinewsBahrain and Kuwait secretly sent warplanes into Iran in early July, striking targets inside the country, according to a report.
The Wall Street Journal, citing sources familiar with the matter, reported that some Gulf states carried out retaliatory strikes against Iran.
According to the sources, Bahrain and Kuwait, both home to US military bases, sent warplanes into Iran in secret and carried out airstrikes in response to attacks by Tehran. The strikes targeted military facilities as well as drone and missile depots, the sources claimed.
The report noted that the Kuwaiti and Bahraini governments did not respond to requests for comment.
Gulf Arab states, particularly Kuwait and Bahrain, have frequently said their air defense systems intercepted airstrikes originating from Iran.
